Then on her thirteenth birthday she is told she needs to choose a husband. In a panic she runs away from the Hold where she lived and hides in the woods. Hearing bells on the road she crawls out of her hiding place to find a lone Companion on the road. Thinking it lost she endevors to return it to the Collegium hoping maybe they'll let her stay and maybe chose her to be a Herald. When she reaches the Collegium she finds out she has been Chosen by the very Companion she sought to return and is overjoyed. And that is where her adventures begin. Arrows Flight Talia has passed Herald training and all its challenges, and now she is going on a internship with one of the older Heralds to comlete her training once and for all. At the top of the Circut they are trapped in a blizard and her powers go out of control, nearly killing Herald Kris, herself and the two Companions in the process. Realizing their danger nearly too late Herald Kris works frantically tohelp her regain control of her powers, knowing full well that one slip could kill them all. Arrows fall Talia is a full Herald and one of the most important ones next to the queen herself. She is the Queen's Own, second in line for the throne untill the heir is old enough. When Queen Seleny gets a marriage offer for her daughter Elspeth for the heir to the throne of the neighboring kingdom of Hardorn, Ancar, about who terrible rumors exist. Talia is sent to find out whether the rumors leaking past the border are true. Is Ancar really a dark magician gaining his power from the death and toture of others?
